Polar Treat Opening Day 2025!
Guess what everyone?! It's almost that time! We are opening for the 2025 season this Thursday, March 20, to ring in spring in Down East Maine! More details to follow later in the week, so stay tuned for our posts with more info! We are hiring a *limited* number of customer service staff for the season. We are SO grateful for our returning teammates, but anticipate a busy season and want to add TWO part time (20-32 hours per week) staff to our awesome team! And that’s a Wrap on the 2024 Season!
And that’s a wrap on the 2024 season…. We sold out of nearly every single thing in this place! What. A. Season! This year started a little later than usual but was worth it with the renovations. They gave us space to work, a clean look and feel, extra capacity to expand both ice cream and the kitchen, and brought you a seating area! Check out the video below of some of our highlights! Who wants to know Wednesday?! The Hump Day happenings are here! YES! We are still OPEN! We need your help spreading the word! We get calls, messages, and questions daily wondering if we are open, our hours, and closing date. Here’s what you need to know: Current daily hours are 11am-7pm, seven days a week, now through Monday, October 14, 2024. As of Tuesday, October 15 (the day after Indigenous Peoples Day, normal hours through then), we will curtail hours slightly and open from 2pm-7pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Who wants to know Wednesday?! The hump day happenings are here! Let’s meet our oldest kiddo that works here, Rylan! He’s 14, a homeschooled freshman, and has spent the summer working extremely hard for the Polar Treat! Rylan pulls all of the food that the expo calls out on the tickets, has learned to prep and stock like an absolute champion, and cleans our outside eating area, picnic tables, and counters. Let’s meet Jake! This is Jake’s THIRD year working at the Polar Treat with us! You mainly see him taking and passing out your food orders, but he’s also a milkshake expert and helps on ice cream, too! Jake’s favorite ice cream to make is a dream come sundae! His favorite ice cream to eat is toasted coconut! Jake’s favorite part of working here is socializing with our team and customers! You probably all know our daughter, Londyn! She’s quite literally grown up at the Polar Treat (she’s been here every season since she was 1), and at the age of 7, she’s got customer service skills that are on point! She can make soft and hard serve cones, flurries, shakes, and more! She can tell you what’s in every hard serve flavor, how to set up every food order we receive, and cleans like a rockstar! Her favorite ice cream to make is soft serve cones and milkshake manias! Her favorite ice cream to eat is almost always anything chocolate!
